Farhan Akhtar's security guard at his Bandstand residence in Mumbai has tested positive for COVID-19 just days after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had sealed his neighbour, veteran actress Rekha's bungalow, Sea Breeze, after a security guard posted there contracted the virus.
It is not yet clear if Akhtar's security staff interacted with Rekha's staff. The actress is said to be in self-quarantine at home.
According to a report in the English daily, Mid-Day, Akhtar is yet to get himself tested for COVID-19 despite his bungalow coming under the containment zone.
The same report suggests that Rekha has refused to get tested and even refused to allow her bungalow to be fumigated. However, the BMC had sanitized a portion of her bungalow where the security personnel used to reside.
Now Akhtar joins the growing list of celebrities whose support staff have been affected by the pandemic. Earlier, actress Sara Ali Khan, producer Boney Kapoor, actor Aamir Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar had reported staff members being affected by the contagion.
Meanwhile, last weekend the Bachchan family, Anupam Kher's mother and his brother's family had also tested positive for COVID-19.
