The long-in-the-making Yaara, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, will finally see the light of day on Zee5. The film is due to be released on the online streaming platform on 25 July.

Meanwhile, Hansal Mehta’s Omerta (2018), starring Rajkummar Rao, was due to be released last month, but will now be seen on the platform on 30 July.

Dhulia’s friendship drama stars Vidyut Jammwal, Amit Sadh and Shruti Haasan. Vijay Varma is also part of the cast. Filming for Yaara, said to be a remake of the French film Les Lyonnais (2011), was completed in 2015.

In Omerta, Rajkummar Rao played the Pakistani-origin British terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Shaikh, who was sentenced to death for abducting and murdering Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl and has since been acquitted of the charge. The biopic, which was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, was released in Indian theatres on 4 May 2018.

While Rajkummar Rao had Chhalaang, Roohi Afzana, and Ludo lined up for release in the first half of 2020, it is unclear when they will be released as theatres have been shut since March. Jammwal's next action love story, Khuda Hafiz, is also being released digitally on Disney+ Hotstar in the coming months.
