After releasing four character teasers, Amazon Prime India has finally released the trailer for Breathe: Into The Shadows. It has been three months since Siya, daughter of Dr Avinash (Abhishek Bachchan) and Aabha (Nithya Menen) got kidnapped.
When they are on the verge of losing hope, the kidnapper gets in touch with them with an unusual demand. He wants Dr Avinash to kill certain people. Avinash has no option but to agree and the mind game between the kidnapper and Avinash begin.
Avinash, a psychiatrist, has to battle on two fronts. He has to try to decipher the actual motive behind the kidnapper's unusual demand while also finding out ways to save himself from the law.
To do both, he joins the investigation headed by inspector Kabir Sawant (Amit Sadh) and tries to derail it by leading the team in the wrong direction. Will he succeed? Or will the inspector wise up to Avinash's game?
The second season of Breathe follows the same template as the first: a helpless father forced by circumstances to commit murders. Abhishek Bachchan looks convincing as the father who will go to any length to save his only daughter.
The trailer indicates that the kidnapper has some deeply personal reasons for his acts. We don't get to see his face in the trailer, though.
Nithya Menen, who, like Bachchan, is making her digital debut with the web-series, plays a concerned mother. Despite her limited presence in the trailer, she leaves her mark.
The trailer for Breathe 2 has been edited smartly and despite its three-minute length, it succeeds in keeping things vague for the viewer. Along with Bachchan, Menen and Sadh, Breathe: Into The Shadows stars Hrishikesh Joshi and Resham. Both make fleeting appearances in the trailer.
Breathe: Into The Shadows is co-written by Mayank Sharma, who returns as director from season one. Amazon Prime Video will stream the second season from 10 July. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the series.
