With the COVID-19 pandemic raging across many parts of the world, shooting at foreign locations has become difficult and, according to a report by the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency, actor Kartik Aaryan’s action film with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020) director Om Raut, which was to have been shot in Hong Kong, has been put on hold.
The as-yet-untitled 3D action flick was to be shot in India and various locations abroad. However, the makers have decided to postpone the project, the agency said.
"We are doing it later," a source in the film unit told PTI. "It is on hold because the film involves a lot of foreign shoots and we can't shoot abroad. The team was to shoot in Hong Kong, but it can't happen due to the coronavirus. We are figuring out what to do. There were other places also. It is a cutting-edge action film."
The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, which had earlier produced the period action epic Tanhaji as well. That film, starring Ajay Devgn, had collected over Rs350 crore worldwide.
The source said the film's team is rewriting the script and making some changes as it is still committed to making it. “Both [Aaryan and Raut] are committed to the film," the source said. "They want to make the film. The team will have to change the script because it is not possible to shoot abroad."
Kartik Aryan's previous release was Love Aaj Kal (2020) opposite Sara Ali Khan which opened to mixed reviews and did average business at the box office. Apart from Om Raut's untitled action flick, the actor is working on Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and a sequel to Dostana (2008).
