Street Dancer 3 song 'Dua Karo': Arijit Singh and Bohemia combine to create moving plea for forgiveness

It does not matter if it is a funky pop ballad or a rap-melody mix, Arijit Singh seems to fit in anywhere. The singer teams up with rapper Bohemia for the latest plea for forgiveness, 'Dua Karo', from Street Dancer 3. With lyrics by Priya Saraiya and composed by Sachin-Jigar, the song does touch the emotional undercurrent that runs through Remo D'Souza's upcoming film.
The song is set in the backdrop of a tumultuous moment in the dance competition, caused by Varun Dhawan's selfishness. The actor seems to play a character who has now lost his friend and alienated his close partners after choosing the winning side over everything else. From the first snippet of Aparshakti Khurana's poor migrant asking Dhawan why he betrayed him to the warning by his close friend, the theme of regret sets up the Sachin-Jigar composition.
The song begins with the familiar voice of Arijit Singh building up the sadness. The difference lies in the very rock-ballad-style composition that is set on the rhythm of the electric guitar and bass before the drums kick in. As the pace picks up, Arijit Singh does a wonderful transition that cues in the rap by Bohemia.
The only flaw, perhaps, is Dhawan's morose features that dominate the video. The actor does salvage something in the dance moves, but they hardly match the intensity and pace of the composition.
Street Dancer 3 also features Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhu Deva and Nora Fatehi, among others. The film is set for release on 24 January 2020. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
