Actor Vijay Sethupathi, who is currently shooting for Vijay’s Master (2020), has been signed to play the antagonist in Allu Arjun’s next yet-untitled Telugu film with director Sukumar.
In a media interaction ahead of the release of his forthcoming Telugu film, Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo (2020), Arjun opened up about his next project and confirmed Vijay Sethupathi plays the antagonist.
Vijay Sethupathi started playing negative roles from Rajinikanth’s Petta (2019). In Master, he’s rumoured to be playing a gangster who locks horns with Vijay.
Dubbed as AA 20 and to be produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the project is expected to go on the floors in a few weeks. It will be Arjun’s third outing with Sukumar after Arya (2004) and Arya 2 (2009).
Reports have emerged that the duo is joining hands for Arya 3, and that’s why Arjun has been growing long locks. However, latest reports suggest that the duo is joining hands for a forest-based thriller.
In Arya 2, which didn’t do as well as the first part at the box office, he had sported long locks to play a very naïve character with a secret past.
The makers of AA 20 are yet to reveal the complete cast and crew. But it has been confirmed that Rashmika Mandanna has been signed to play the leading lady.
Sukumar, whose last film Rangasthalam (2018) set new box office records, is gearing up to commence work on his upcoming project with Mahesh Babu.
Arjun also has a project titled Icon (2020) lined up this year apart from a pan-India project with AR Murugadoss. If everything goes as planned, Murugadoss’s film might mark Arjun’s Hindi film debut.
