Shaheed Bhai Kotwal teaser: Rousing tale of valour from India's freedom struggle

With films like Hirkani (2019), Fatteshikast (2019) to upcoming Tanhaji (2020) and Sardar Udham Singh (2020), it seems historicals and biopics are the new trend in both Marathi and Hindi film industry. Online platforms has also latched on to this new trend with shows like Bose: Dead or Alive and Gondya Ala Re. 

Now there is another Marathi film being made on a freedom fighter Bhai Kotwal.  Titled Shaheed Bhai Kotwal, this historical biopic is directed by first-time filmmakers Eknath Desale and Parag Sawant.

The teaser of the film looks a grand affair. Though it's very early to make any statement but actor Ashutosh Patki looks promising. Actors like Ganesh Yadav and Arun Nalawade also appear in this 59-seconds teaser. Televison actress Rutuja Bagwe will make her film debut with this film.

Two things that stand out the most in this teaser are the rich art design by Devdas Bhandare and the rousing background score by Amar Mohile.

Vitthal Laxman Kotwal fondly known as Bhai Kotwal was a freedom fighter with a socialist ideology. He was martyred in 1943 after he was shot on an underground mission by a British officer.
