Panga song 'Le Le Panga': Kangana Ranaut prepares for the battle ahead with scintillating title track

Kangana Ranaut's Panga already has enough punch to promise a hit, and the title track certainly adds to the punching power. Composed by the trinity of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa, the song captures the determination and guts of a woman to fight all odds to fulfil her dream.
The song begins in the backdrop of Kangana Ranaut's Jaya Nigam setting out to make her comeback as a kabaddi professional. It is not an easy journey. She not only has to push her 32-year-old self to wake up early every morning to run and work out, but she also has to fight off prevalent stereotypes and systems. With her little boy and encouraging husband by her side, Jaya decides not to back down.
The song definitely captures the spirit of determination present in the visuals. The lyrics by Javed Akhtar are not only rhythmic and sound, but also spur you on with their spirit. Put them together with the music, and it makes for an infectious combination.
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have always been known for their rhythms, and they don't falter this time either. The song picks up with a steady beat, with the percussion still providing the rhythmic base. Yet, it is the floating chords of the guitar that add a layer of fun to the composition. The song rises to a crescendo with the chorus of Mani Mahadevan, Shivam Mahadevan, Arsh Mohammed and Ravi Mishra joining the lead singers.
Harshdeep Kaur, Divya Kumar and Siddharth Mahadevan are tasked with leading the song, and they do a good job of it. The switch between the vocals, given equal space, seems like a statement and does fare well.
Panga is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and also features Richa Chadha and Jassie Gill. The film is set for release in theatres on 24 January 2020.
