Finally after a long wait, the coming-of-age drama Mhorkya (2020) will release on 24 January. Writer-director Amar Bharat Deokar sold his two acre land to fund his National award-winning drama. Usually when any film wins a National award, it increases its chance of getting wider release, but contrary to that Mhorkya couldn't find any takers for two years.
The makers announced the release date along with the new poster of the film. It features child artiste Raman Deokar and Amar Bharat Deokar opposite each other with the national flag's tricolour as the background.
The film has already garnered praise from critics for delivering a social political message without compromising on its core narrative. Mhorkya has also won three awards, including the Audience Choice award at the prestigious Pune International Film Festival last year.
