Director Sameer Patil has so far made three Marathi films — Poshter Boyz (2014), Poshter Girl (2016) and Shentimental (2017) — and all have been light-hearted entertainers. His latest, Vikun Taak, makes it amply clear from its teaser that this one, too, is a massy comedy.
The teaser indicates that the story revolves around the character played by Shivraj Waichal. He is in debt and needs money desperately to pay off his creditors. He thinks up a plan of selling random items belonging to others on a website to raise money, and gets into trouble because of it.
The teaser for Vikun Taak shows good indication of this being another rib-tickling entertainer from Patil. It has funny moments and is edited and packaged well. The film is Waichal’s second as a lead artiste after Wedding Cha Shinema (2019). Here he is seen displaying some impressive comic skills.
Vikun Taak also marks the Marathi cinema debut of veteran Hindi film actor Chunky Pandey. He is featured in the teaser only towards the end. But his character of an Arab who asks for the protagonist’s kidney appears funny. The film also stars Hrishikesh Joshi and Rujuta Deshmukh.
Vikun Taak will be released on 31 January. Watch the teaser below and tell us if you would be watching the film.
