The new poster of Indraadip Dasgupta’s upcoming film Agantuk (2020) is out. Starring Sohini Sarkar and Abir Chatterjee, the thriller deals with a mysterious death and probes whether it is a murder or an accident.
The film will also explore the issue of neglected parents who are left with no choice but to stay away from their children as the latter move far away for work. The aged parents are then left to spend a lonely life without proper care from close ones.
In the film, Sarkar will be essaying the young, middle-aged and old selves of her character. The poster shows her in the aged avatar, peeping out from behind a worn-out door on which is written the name Srimati Shobharani Basu.
Chatterjee is seen in the dimly lit background of the room, in a comparatively younger avatar, looking tense.
Apart from the never-before avatar of Sarkar, there is an ECG wave across the poster that causes intrigue. The poster also piques curiosity about the equation between the lead artistes in the film.
Agantuk also features Sujan Mukhopadhyay, Damini Benny Basu, Devlina Kumar and Sidhu in important roles.
Music composer Indraadip Dasgupta’s debut film Kedara won the Special Jury award at the National Film Awards last year. He is currently shooting his next film Bismillah.
Agantuk is slated for release in April.
