Shah Rukh Khan steps in as producer for Sanjay Mishra-starrer, Kaamyaab

Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t decided his next film as an actor, but Shah Rukh Khan the producer has found a film to back. The actor will now back Hardik Mehta's Kaamyaab, which stars Sanjay Mishra in the lead. 

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Khan recently saw the film and decided to back it as a producer, under his banner Red Chillies Entertainment. The report further said that it was the story of the struggle faced by character artistes that appealed to the actor. 

SRK has collaborated with Drishyam Films for this one. The official Twitter page of Drishyam confirmed this. 

The film sees Mishra play an actor called Sudheer, who has been working as a character actor for years but hasn’t got the recognition and respect which he feels he deserves. When he gets to know that he has acted in 499 films so far, he becomes eager to find another role that would help him reach the magical number of 500 films and achieve recognition. That is where his struggle to find that one role begins. 

Kaamyaab has been screened in various international festivals. The film’s India premiere happened last year at the 21st MAMI Mumbai Film Festival where it received a positive response. 

Along with Mishra, the film also has Deepak Dobriyal playing the important role of a casting director.
