The popularity of the 'nagin' dance cannot be underestimated in India, and with Pritam's latest composition for Love Aaj Kal, it gets another lovely twist.

The song, 'Haan Main Galat', is a lovely dance number that captures the sense of rebellion and defiance that goes with young lovers. Picturized on Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan and Arushi Sharma, it has the voices of Arijit Singh and Shaswat Singh to add to the music.

The visuals are set to the background of a reconstructed set that brings the two couples—Sara Ali Khan, Arushi Sharma, and the two Kartik Aaryans together. In a way, it mirrors the 'Ahun Ahun' track from the 2009 original. With its kaleidoscope of colours lit up under strobe lights, it is visually appealing. The visuals shift between the sepia tone, for Raghu and Leela, and the purple disco for Veer and Zoe.

While the two different Kartik Aaryans express love in their own different ways, the song points to the similarity between the couples. Composer Pritam inventively uses the male voice to express the female characters as well, with Sara Ali Khan's Zoe kicking off the song by mouthing lyrics sung by Arijit Singh.

Pritam's composition is quite catchy, with its electronic guitar introduction. It truly kicks off with the 'nagin' theme, which makes for a very addictive hook-step in the middle of the track.

While Irshad Kamil's inventive Hinglish lyrics are sung in alternating staccato by Arijit Singh and Shaswat Singh, that does not affect the tempo of the composition at any point. In all, this is a song that will catch on quickly.

Love Aaj Kal is directed by Imtiaz Ali and is set for release in theatres on 14 February 2020.
