After just an average first weekend of Rs39 crore nett, Remo D’Souza’s Street Dancer 3 (2020) struggled on its first Monday. The Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhu Deva-starrer made only Rs4.25 crore nett on the day, as per numbers shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Street Dancer 3 has received negative reviews and word-of-mouth and this seems to have affected the film. The last dance film by D’Souza, ABCD 2 (2015), which also starred Dhawan, Kapoor and Prabhu Deva, had made an impressive Rs71.87 crore nett in its first week. Street Dancer 3 doesn’t look like finishing the first week even closer to that number.
As per our trade sources, the film is made at an estimated budget of Rs80-90 crore. Clearly, it is struggling right now to reach even that number as its grand total currently stands at Rs43.25 crore nett.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut-starrer Panga (2020) has fared even worse as it could collect only Rs1.25 crore nett on its first Monday. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the film has so far earned a total of only Rs13 crore nett.
As per our trade sources, Panga is made at a budget around Rs30 crore. Hence, it has a steep road ahead in the weekdays.
