Street Dancer 3 (2020) enjoyed a dominant weekend with Rs39 crore, while Panga (2020) earned only Rs11.25 crore as they finished their first weekend clash. The Remo D'Souza film showed an improved collection, albeit less than the earlier ABCD 2 (2015).
According to figures from BoxOfficeIndia.com, Street Dancer 3 earned Rs9.50 crore on Friday, and then added Rs12.50 crore on Saturday and Rs17 crore on Sunday. Reports suggest that the film might have earned more, if not for the strong run of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020) now in its third weekend.
Street Dancer 3's weekend collection of Rs39 crore is quite good but still less than ABCD 2's first weekend of Rs46 crore.
In contrast, Kangana Ranaut-led Panga earned Rs11.25 crore on its first weekend. Although the film was praised by critics, it has not shown an impressive return on the first weekend. The film opened on Friday with Rs2 crore, before growing on Saturday (Rs4.25 crore) and Sunday (Rs5.50 crore). According to BoxOfficeIndia, the film might have shown a better performance had it not clashed with Street Dancer 3, which has had a more popular appeal.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior continued its gallop into the third weekend with a collection of Rs25.50 crore, according to numbers from BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film's third-weekend numbers are the fourth-best following Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), Dangal (2016) and PK (2014).
The total collection of the film now reaches Rs219 crore over the span of 17 days and looks well set to cross the Rs250 crore mark.
