Ajay Devgn-starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020) is unstoppable even in its third week in India. The film has made Rs25.50 crore nett in its third weekend, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Directed by Om Raut, the film is inspired by the life of the Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare. The film specifically focuses on his mission of capturing Sinhagad fort from the Rajput king Udhaybhan, played by Saif Ali Khan, who was fighting on behalf of the Mughals. The film sees Kajol play Malusare’s wife Savitri.
Tanhaji had a very good first week where it made Rs115.28 crore nett. It didn’t slow down in the second week and earned Rs77.87 crore nett. After its impressive run in the first three days of the third week, it seems the film will continue to do well even in the weekdays of the third week.
Tanhaji has so far made a total of Rs218.65 crore nett. The film is made at an estimated budget of Rs150 crore. It is now heading towards the Rs250 crore nett mark.
The film is also helped by the fact that this week’s two new releases Street Dancer 3D (2020) and Panga (2020) haven’t set the box office on fire.
Tanhaji is the second Devgn-starrer to cross the Rs200 crore mark after Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again (2017).
