After being injured on the sets of the Hindi remake of Jersey earlier this month, actor Shahid Kapoor is back on set to resume shooting. Kapoor flew back to the film's Chandigarh set from Mumbai for its second schedule by 22 January. He was hit on his lower lip during rehearsal, leaving him with a gash that required 13 stitches.

The actor also shared an update with his fans about his injury status on his now-deleted Instagram Stories. He captioned the photo of himself en route to the film set, "Thank you for all the wishes. The torn lip is still a bit raw but doesn't show much now. So, back on the set."

The second schedule of the film is expected to wrap up in two weeks. Producer Aman Gill told the newspaper Hindustan Times, "Shahid is a thorough professional and didn't want to waste any time. He took proper treatment and has returned without any delay. His energy and dedication are admirable.

Jersey (2019), starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath, is the story of former cricketer who returns to the game for his young son. Gowtam Tinnanuri, who helmed the original, is on board for the Hindi remake as well. The film is due to be released on 28 August 2020.
