With Panga (2020) and Street Dancer 3 (2020) arriving today, Ajay Devgn might not have long to enjoy the continued run of his film, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020). The film has managed to collect Rs30 crore nett in its second week at the box office.
Released on 10 January, the Om Raut film, whose budget was around Rs150 crore, opened on 2,000 screens across India. According to figures from BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film has now collected Rs192 crore nett over the span of two weeks.
The film began the week by reaching the Rs170 crore mark on Monday. But it went on to add Rs30 crore in the second week. This number is only bettered by Devgn's Golmaal Again (Rs46 crore) for second-week collections.
The film benefited from several tax benefits given out by the state governments of Madhya Pradesh and, now, Maharashtra.
The Kangana Ranaut-led Panga will compete with Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor's Street Dancer 3D this Friday. This is likely to result in a drastic reduction of collections for the Devgn film.
