News about one of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming films is out on the day her latest film Panga (2020) releases in theatres. The actress has signed Ronnie Screwvala’s next titled Tejas where she will be playing an air force pilot. The film will be directed by first-timer Sarvesh Mewara.

Reacting on the news, Ranaut said in an official statement, “I have always wanted to play a soldier and have been fascinated with the armed forces since childhood. I have never held back my emotions for our jawans and spoken openly about how strongly I feel about their heroism. They keep our country secure and our people safe. So, I’m very happy to be doing this film."

Ranaut is extra happy for this film since she will get to wear the uniform of the Indian Air Force. “I am thankful to Ronnie sir and Sarvesh who have come to me with this extraordinary script that celebrates the heroism of our soldiers. Being in uniform will be one of the biggest highlights of my life.”

The actress will be undergoing extensive preparations and training for the role once she gets free from her upcoming film Thalaivi (2020). “I will undergo intense training before the shoot starts. My director has decided to get professional trainers on board. Right now, I am too deep into Thalaivi. After that, we will get to Tejas, which we will start this year itself,” Ranaut added.

Apart from Thalaivi, which is the biopic on the former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Ranaut also has Dhaakad (2020) up her sleeve.
