Bhumi Pednekar-starrer Durgavati (2020) went on the floors today. The film is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu film Bhaagamathie (2018), which starred the southern star Anushka Shetty in the lead. It was a supernatural thriller directed by Ashok G. The same filmmaker is also helming its Hindi remake.
The news about Durgavati going on floors was shared by the film’s producer and T-Series’ head Bhushan Kumar on his official Twitter page. The film's other producer, actor Akshay Kumar shared the same image on his Twitter and wrote, “Durgavati begins, with blessings and good vibes, as always need your best wishes as well.”
A picture of Pednekar praying to Goddess Durga accompanying the tweets shows the actresss immersed in devotion with her hands joined before the shoot begins. Durgavati is also produced by Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films and Abunduntia Entertainment.
The 2018 film told the story of an honest Indian Administrative (IAS) officer who gets entangled in the web of dirty politics while solving a case. This gets her locked in an old and haunted bungalow where she experiences frightening and spooky incidents.
Pednekar was seen in four films last year, Sonchiriya, Saand Ki Aankh, Bala, and Pati Patni Aur Woh.
