Malang song 'Humraah': Sachet Tandon's voice adds to the magic of the composition

The wonderful composition is by The Fusion Project, a UK band known for its fusion of classical Indian and Western music.

Malang (2020) might be another one of Mohit Suri's turns into the dark zone with an action-filled mysterious story of three assassins, but you cannot fault its music.

The latest addition to the album is 'Humraah', composed by The Fusion Project, a UK band known for composing classical Indian and Western fusions, and sung by Sachet Tandon.

Mellifluous, catchy and romantic, the song is a wonderful addition to the very picturesque romance between Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani.

The song begins with the lovebirds finding the courage to overcome their fears together, although why one would do that by jumping off a cliff into the waves is beyond us.

Soon, friendship blossoms into a romance that can only be envied. Suri captures this with some adventurous shots of the duo parasailing on blue waves and driving through the picturesque locales of Goa to add to the sense of romance.

The true magic, though, lies in the composition by The Fusion Project. The composition begins with a slow buildup, but once the beat drops with the hook line 'Humraah main bhi tera hoon', it is transformed. The song is definitely going to make it to every party list. With the right balance between romantic and vibrant, it catches on pretty quickly.

With the excellent Sachet Tandon providing the vocals, the song also has the right balance that stops it from becoming too heavy on the EDM boost. Kunaal Vermaa's lyrics are quite good and match up to the rhythm of the music.

Malang is directed by Mohit Suri, and is set to be released in theatres on 7 February. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
