After Farzand (2018), Fatteshikhast (2019), Hirkani (2019) continuing the trend of historical dramas, Pritam SK Patil has announced another historical drama set in the same period. Titled Jiu- Swarajya Kanika, the film will tell a story of Maratha ing Shivaji's mother, Jijabai. The makers announced the film with a poster release.
From the saffron sky to the flag, there is even a tinge of saffron on the budding leaves. The colour represents the flag of the Maratha empire.
We also see India’s map being formed on the barren land where a single plant has survived against all odds. It probably symbolises the new hope for Hindvi 'swarajya' (independence).
Pritam SK Patil had previously directed a social drama Khichik (2019) which did not fare too well at the box office. It will be interesting to see how the director handles this historical drama.
The film will is produced by Anuja Deshpande under the banner, Fireflies Entertainment.
