Prawaas (2020), starring Ashok Saraf and Padmini Kolhapure, is the story of an older man who lived his entire life in a set pattern, but a tragic incident forces him to rethink how he wants to live the rest of his life.
The title track composed by Salim Suleiman explores the same theme. The visuals show Saraf struggling to come to terms with his condition with his wife Kolhapure standing by him as his support system.
Sonu Nigam’s evocative voice brings forth the emotion of the song effectively. The talented singer is known for modulating his voice according to the mood of the song, and here also, he perfectly essays the tone of the song with his soul-stirring voice.
Guru Thakur’s lyrics are simple but effective. This is composer duo Salim-Sulaiman’s first ever Marathi film, and they have composed a beautiful tune for their debut. The celebrated duo has composed music for hit Hindi films like Chak De! India (2007), Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) and Band Baaja Baaraat (2010).
This is the first time Saraf and Kolhapure are working together. Saraf is known for his comic roles, but of late, the actor is trying his hand on more serious roles.
Directed by Shashank Udapurkar, Prawaas will release on 31 January 2020. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
