Box office: Tanhaji is unstoppable even on second Monday, reaches Rs170 crore

Om Raut’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior continued its glorious run even on its second Monday yesterday. Starring Ajay Devgn, the film made Rs8 crore nett on the day, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The film had done very well in its second weekend, making a collection of Rs47.25 crore nett at the domestic box office. With the second Monday figures, it seems the film is not likely to slow down anytime soon. In the first four days of the second week, the film has already amassed Rs55.25 crore nett.

Tanhaji’s total currently stands at a mammoth Rs170.28 crore nett and the film, made at an estimated cost of Rs150 crore, appears all set to enter the Rs200 crore club.

The film is a biopic of the Maratha general Tanaji Malusare with Saif Ali Khan playing his opponent Udaybhan Rathod, who commanded the Mughal garrison holding Kondhana fort. Tanhaji sees Kajol play Devgn’s screen wife Savitri while Sharad Kelkar plays Shivaji.

Meanwhile, the Deepika Padukone-starrer Chhapaak fell further on its second Monday, making just Rs45 lakh nett. The Meghna Gulzar-directed film has made Rs29.70 crore nett so far against an estimated budget of Rs35 crore.

On the other hand, the Akshay Kumar-starrer Good Newwz made Rs55 lakh nett on its fourth Monday, taking its overall total to an impressive Rs193.16 crore nett.
