When it comes to SS Rajamouli, there are no half measures. Having chosen an eclectic cast, including Alia Bhatt, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan, for his next project, RRR, the director has now begun work with Ajay Devgn for the film.
The Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020) star began shooting for the Telugu multi-starrer on Tuesday.

Devgn is just coming off the success of Om Raut's historical epic, which saw him portray the 17th century Maratha general Tanaji Malusare. In addition, the actor has Bhuj: The Pride Of India (2020) and Maidaan (2020) lined up in the schedule for the year.
RRR is reportedly a period film set in the era between the 1920s and the 1940s. At the film's launch, director Rajamouli had said, "This will be a fictional story on the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. There are gaps in the lives of these legendary freedom fighters that we don’t know about. We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years. It is through this fictional story we would like to show what could have happened in their lives and what would have happened if they met and bonded."
Jr NTR is reportedly playing Komaram Bheem while Ram Charan is playing the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju. The film will also feature Tamil actor Samuthirakani in a key role.
RRR will also feature an international cast led by Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.
The film went on the floors back in November 2018, with Ram Charan and Jr NTR joining the first schedule. The film has completed over 70% of its production, but might still find itself unable to make it in time for the initial 30 July 2020 release date.
