Toofan first look: Farhan Akhtar steps into the ring for new year

Farhan Akhtar shows off his resolute determination to play the boxer in the new still from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Toofan (2020). The film opened its social media account on the new year with Akhtar's look from the film. 

The actor has already been sharing quite a few videos of his training regime to get in shape as a boxer for the film, and the work seems to have paid off. The image captures Akhtar's boxer, dressed in blue, looking determinedly into the distance as he takes a break in the ring. 

Akhtar last played a sportsperson in the Milkha Singh biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013). Toofan will also feature Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in key roles. The film is set to release on 2 October 2020. 

While the story is not a biopic, it will follow the fictional tale of a boxer trying to breakthrough in the ring. Written by Anjum Rajabali, the film will be produced by Akhtar's own Excel Entertainment and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's ROMP Pictures.
