Netflix teams up with Ghost Stories makers for four different projects in 2020

While Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap team up once more with Netflix, Vikramaditya Motwane will also be backed by the streaming platform for a standalone project.

The Netflix India connection with Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee is set to continue in 2020. The filmmakers were part of the Ghost Stories anthology that was released on 1 January 2020. Now, the streaming platform has signed on the filmmakers, as well as Vikramaditya Motwane, for four different projects to be released through this year.

Karan Johar and Dharmatics Entertainment, the digital wing of Dharma Productions, will create an anthology featuring Shefali Shah, Nushrat Bharucha, Manav Kaul, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Anurag Kashyap's Choked will see Saiyami Kher opposite Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew.

Following up on his intriguing turn with horror in Ghost Stories, Dibakar Banerjee's project is titled Freedom. The film will feature Naseeruddin Shah, Manisha Koirala, Huma Qureshi, Kalki Koechlin, Divya Dutta, Zoya Hussain, Shashank Arora and Neeraj Kabi.

Returning from the massive success of the Sacred Games series, director Vikramaditya Motwane will helm AK vs AK featuring Anil Kapoor in the lead, opposite another old friend, Anurag Kashyap.

In addition to the anthology, Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment will also produce Ruchi Narain's Guilty, featuring Kiara Advani. The director is also set to begin work on his historical epic, Takht (2021), soon.

In April 2019, Netflix India had announced a slate of 10 films till 2020, which included Sudhir Mishra's adaptation of Manu Joseph's best-selling novel Serious Men, Shirish Kunder's thriller, Mrs. Serial Killer, and Sooni Taraporevala's Yeh Ballet.
