Arati Kadav's sci-fi feature debut, Cargo, will join 102 features and episodes at the 27th edition of the South By Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival in March. The film has been selected as part of the Global Screening Section in the festival.
The film, featuring Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi, revolved around a futuristic world where rakshasas (demons) help in the transition of human souls after death. The film premiered at the 21st Mumbai Film Festival in October 2019 under the Spotlight section.
Cargo marked Kadav's directorial debut, and was well recieved at the film festival. The film was among the rare sci-fi films to release last year.
