After sharing the poster of the cricketer Sandeep Patil where the cricketer’s own son, Chirag Patil, plays the role, makers of 83 have now shared the poster for another key member of the team, Kirti Azad. Dinker Sharma, who played small role in Netflix series Delhi Crime (2018), is playing the role of the all-rounder. This is Dinker Sharma's debut in Hindi film industry.

The producers shared the poster on the film’s official Facebook page with the caption, “Never a dull moment around this champ. Presenting the Shararti devil."

The poster sees Sharma as Kirti Azad in his stride to bowl his off-spin.

Son of a former chief minister, Bhagwat Jha Azad of Bihar, Kirti Azad was an all-rounder who played seven tests and 25 ODI for India. He played a very important role in India’s victory against England in the 1983 world cup. He picked up the prize wicket of Ian Botham in the semi-finals of the tournament. Though Azad had very good record in domestic tournaments, he couldn’t carry the form through his international career.

After retirement, Azad became a politician. He contested elections from BJP’s ticket and became member of Loksabha in 2014. In 2019, he joined Indian National Congress.

Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 is based on India’s famous victory in the 1983 cricket world cup. The film will see Ranveer Singh playing the role of then India captain, Kapil Dev. 83 is slated to release on 10 April 2020.
