Makeup song ‘Julali Gaath Ga’: Rinku Rajguru is excited to get engaged in this fun celebration number

It seems to be the season for wedding songs in Marathi cinema now. After 'Dadacha Lagin' from Vikun Taak (2020) last week, we have another song around wedding preparations from the upcoming Makeup.

Purvi (Rinku Rajguru) is getting ready for her engagement in the song 'Julali Gaath Ga'. She is appreciating her own looks in the mirror. From the trailer itself you would have got an idea about Rinku Rajguru’s character in the film, and in the song, too, we get to see her cheerful side. Purvi joins everybody and starts dancing without inhibitions in the latter half of the song.

A.V Prafullachandra, who has composed the tune for this song, has done well to include little folk elements in the music while tweaking them to sound more contemporary. The combination of folk and contemporary singing works for the composition. The final crescendo, with musical instruments like the shehnai and the dholak, is the highlight of the song. The lyrics by Vaibhav Deshmukh serve their purpose.

Shalmali Kholgade is the lead singer but most of the song has been performed by the chorus. Kholgade gets to sing just two lines in this shortened version shared by the makers on their YouTube channel. Probably we will get to hear her voice more in the full song.

Makeup is directed by screenwriter Ganesh Pandit who makes his directorial debut with this film. It is slated for release on 7 February 2020. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
