Varun Dhawan almost bares it all in and as Mr. Lele: See poster

One of Varun Dhawan’s forthcoming films is a comedy in the form of Coolie No. 1. The film is the remake of the 1995 hit of the same name by his father David Dhawan, who is also helming the remake.

But that’s not the only comedy he is doing. The poster from his upcoming film Mr. Lele (2021) and its title make it ample clear that the film is a comedy. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the film is directed by Shashank Khaitan. 

In an unusual first poster, Varun is down to his underwear along with a full waist pouch containing something. His six-pack abs are also visible. Interestingly, he has a gun in his right hand, but his actions clearly suggest that he is surrendering to someone. But the whole scenario is comic instead of serious. 

This is the third time that Khaitan will be directing Dhawan after Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). This is the director’s next film after Dhadak (2018), which was the Hindi remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat (2016). 

Dhawan has acted in a number of Dharma Productions’ films in his short career so far. After being launched by Johar in Student Of The Year (2012), he went onto act in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Kalank (2019). 

There have been reports about Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar being signed in Mr. Lele. But there hasn’t been any official confirmation on the same. 

Mr. Lele will be releasing on 1 January 2021.
