Tahir Raj Bhasin shapes up as Sunil Gavaskar for 83

With the logo of the film launched, the makers of 83 have released a recreation of one of the most iconic personalities of Indian cricket. The poster features Tahir Raj Bhasin playing a flowing cover drive as he takes on the job of Sunil Gavaskar alongside Ranveer Singh's Kapil Dev. 

Bhasin looks the part as he takes on the role of one of India's greatest batsmen. The poster has the actor in the foreground of the golden 83 logo that was released earlier in the day. With the pads, gloves, and the cover drive, Bhasin certainly looks the part and has got the iconic posture right.

The film 83 is directed by Kabir Khan, and features Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev alongside Southern star Jiiva as Srikkanth, Ammy Virrk as Bishan Singh Bedi and Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, among others.

The actors recently spent some time with Kapil Dev on his birthday on 6 January. The film will also see Deepika Padukone make a special appearance as Romi Dev. 

The film is being produced by Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment and Sajid Nadiadwala and is slated for release in theatres on 10 April 2020.
