John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapur will both play 'villains' in the sequel to Mohit Suri's Ek Villain (2014). The filmmaker recently confirmed that the sequel will feature the two actors in a 'villain versus villain' face-off.

Suri, who teamed up with Aditya Roy Kapur in the soon-to-be-released Malang, spoke to the Mumbai Mirror newspaper. Confirming that the film will go on the floors in June this year, Suri said, "Ekta [Kapoor] and I were looking to create a whole franchise of villains."

The 2014 film featured Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. Suri also told the paper that Malhotra and Deshmukh will not be returning to the franchise. He was quoted as saying, "It is essentially villain versus villain. Both Adi and John are playing negative characters."

Suri is currently awaiting the release of Malang, featuring Roy Kapur, Disha Patani and Anil Kapoor, on 7 February 2020.
