Sachin Khedekar, Manasi Parekh Gohil, Vandana Pathak to make their Gujarati cinema debuts with Golkeri

Manasi Parekh Gohil is also producing the family comedy-drama directed by Viral Shah.

The upcoming film Golkeri (2020) features actor Sachin Khedekar and actresses Manasi Parekh Gohil and Vandana Pathak in their Gujarati cinema debuts. Directed by Viral Shah and produced by Soul Sutra, Golkeri sees Parekh Gohil and Malhar Thakar in the lead roles. Khedekar and Pathak play Thakkar's parents in the film.

Golkeri follows characters Sahil (Malhar Thakar) and Harshita (Manasi Parekh Gohil), who have been dating for two years but end their relationship overnight. While Sahil tries to move on from his breakup, his parents devise ways for him to get back together with Harshita.

Viral Shah, directing only his second project, said of the upcoming film, “This movie will leave you with a feel-good feeling. I was fortunate that I got a chance to work with such a brilliant ensemble cast out of which three are debuting in the Gujarati movie industry with this film. Manasi has produced the film as well and I am so glad, from the word go, everything has fallen into place for us."

"As an actor and producer, the responsibility is tremendous," Parekh Gohil said. "I feel I have learned so much on this one film because unlike an actor, a producer is involved right from the beginning to the end — the process has been enriching for me."

Besides the cast members making their debuts in Gujarati cinema, the film also has singer Mika Singh composing and singing a song in Gujarati for the first time. He has recorded the track 'Soni Gujarat Ni' with Parthiv Gohil for the film.

Golkeri, named after the sweet-sour traditional Gujarati pickle, is due to be released on 28 February.
