After a below average opening weekend of Rs12.25 crore nett, Jawaani Jaaneman’s fate was almost sealed on its first Monday when it made only Rs1.85 crore nett.

The film starring Saif Ali Khan, Alaya F and Tabu continued to hover around that number through the rest of the week, which was never going to be enough for it to break even.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Jawaani Jaaneman earned its lowest amount yesterday when it could manage just Rs1.40 crore nett, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The grand total of Jawaani Jaaneman thus stands at Rs18.75 crore nett now. According to trade sources, the film was made on a budget of about Rs35 crore. Clearly, the film stands no chance of recovering that amount at the domestic box office.

The subject of Jawaani Jaaneman was such that it had only limited urban appeal. It just adds to the long list of unsuccessful films with Saif Ali Khan in the lead. His last hit as leading man was Cocktail (2012). Race 2 (2013), in which he also played the leading role, did only average business.

Meanwhile, the Ajay Devgn-starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior continued its phenomenal run even in its fourth week, making Rs18.60 crore nett. With this, the Om Raut film has reached the Rs250 crore mark. Its grand total at the domestic box office now stands at Rs250.23 crore nett.

Tanhaji also featured Saif Ali Khan in an important role, as the antagonist.
