Taj Mahal 1989 trailer: Love in a time before Tinder

The Netflix web-series, which premieres on 14 February, is set at a university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Dating is perilous no matter what decade you're in and the newest original web-series from Netflix takes us back to the last year of the 1980s, and explores the complicated romantic entanglements of four couples in and around a Lucknow university.

Created by Pushpendra Nath Misra, Taj Mahal 1989 features an established cast including Neeraj Kabi, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Sheeba Chaddha, and Danish Husain. The rest of the young cast is mostly unknown names for now, but that could change once the series begins streaming.

With dialogues in Hindi and English, the web-series, belonging to a time before the app Tinder, navigates how people, both young and old, fell in love. Kabi and Kulkarni seem to be professors battling a rocky marriage, and attempt to rekindle their relationship.

The Netflix web-series is set to begin streaming on 14 February, Valentine's Day.
