After an unimpressive first weekend, Jawaani Jaaneman, starring Saif Ali Khan, Alaya F and Tabu, had a poor first Monday. The film, directed by Nitin Kakkar, made only Rs1.85 crore nett on the day, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com.

After opening at about Rs3 crore nett, Jawaani Jaaneman had seen a slight jump on Saturday and Sunday, making Rs4.25 crore nett and Rs5 crore nett, respectively. So, the film was anyway not expected to earn well on its first Monday and that is exactly what has happened.

The film’s total so far stands at just Rs14.10 crore nett. According to our trade sources, Jawaani Jaaneman was made on a budget of about Rs35 crore. In other words, the film has a mountain to climb at the box office even to break even.

This Friday will see the release of Mohit Suri’s multi-starrer Malang, which might pose a challenge to Jawaani Jaaneman.

Meanwhile, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol, appears unstoppable even in its fourth week, with a collection of Rs14.50 crore nett in its first four days already. The grand total of the Om Raut film now stands at a mammoth Rs246.13 crore nett.
