Vicky Kaushal battles inner demons and evil spirits in the first trailer for Bhanu Pratap Singh's Bhoot: The Haunted Ship (2020). The two-minute-30-second trailer sets up a scene where a large cargo ship called Sea Bird plays the catalyst for a malevolent presence to haunt anyone who is on board.

The trailer opens with the ominous news of a 'ghost' ship that comes ashore at Mumbai's Juhu beach without a single person on board. The shot of Kaushal facing the gigantic ship shows the scale of what he is facing. Kaushal's character Prithvi is the ship's surveying officer and he goes in to investigate a dire scenario.

Ashutosh Rana's character, who works with him, also speaks to him about his hallucinations. It seems Prithvi has a heavy back story of a wife (Bhumi Pednekar) and daughter who are not in his life anymore. Are they dead?

Meanwhile, a young couple foolishly sneaks aboard the ship, which is haunted by an evil female spirit. It doesn't seem like they make it out alive. Prithvi seems to be the only one who can take on the spirit, but will he come out alive?

The film's title states that it is part one of this story, which makes us wonder if the horror film will end on a cliffhanger.

Written and directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, Bhoot: The Haunted Ship (2020) is due to be released on 21 February 2020. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to see the film.
