Vicky Kaushal's first outing in the horror genre, Bhoot: The Haunted Ship (2020), had a poor showing in its first week, with collections of Rs23 crore nett, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film had a lacklustre weekend and could not pull in strong weekday numbers as expected.

However, the film, which is directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, is likely to make up its Rs30 crore budget by the end of its run. It has underperformed in metros and is unlikely that its collections will grow in the coming week due to declining figures daily. It earned Rs16 crore nett on its first weekend.

Meanwhile, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020) eked out a fair first week with Rs42.25 crore nett, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com. Like Bhoot, the film has not done well on weekdays, except in the Delhi-NCR region, where it saw a jump on Thursday.

While the film is not a hit like previous Ayushmann Khurrana-starrers like Dream Girl (2019) and Bala (2019), the gay rom-com might just end up with an average status as compared to its Rs45 crore budget.

The film, directed by Hitesh Kewalya, has its hopes pinned on the second week to decide its fate at the box office.
