It has now been confirmed that actor Ajay Devgn will star and produce the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kaithi (2019). The feature is due to be released on 12 February 2021.

The action thriller will be produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms, Reliance Entertainment, and Dream Warrior Pictures. The producers are looking to get director Lokesh Kanagaraj on board to helm the Hindi remake as well, but it has not been confirmed as yet.
Kaithi, which takes place over a single night, features actor Karthi as a prisoner, Dilli, who is out on parole and heading to meet his daughter for the first time. He is called in by an inspector to help the police escape drug lords who are after them.
The Tamil film was released last Diwali and earned over Rs100 crore at the box office.
