Director Hardik Mehta's Kaamyaab (2020), which is about a character actor trying to acquire redemption with his 500th role, has the perfect song in 'Tim Tim Tim'. The movie features Sanjay Mishra as the desperate actor fighting for recognition.
The composition by Rachita Arora has a 1980s feel to it, and Lahiri's voice only enhances it. The song begins with a catchy 'Tim Tim Tim', which is quite hummable. The visuals of the song are pretty much scenes from the movie, with the quirky eccentricities of the character artiste coming through. Whether it is Mishra playing a king, or a thakur in a haveli, or simply refusing to give an audition, the visuals are hilarious.
The song itself is a short snippet, but captures the ethos of living life kingsize. While it does not have a very heavy percussion, the beat is quite well paced and engaging. The lyrics by Neeraj Pandey play on the whimisical nature of fame, and living life in the moment. In that, it makes for a hummable tune as well.
Kaamyaab is backed by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and will be released on 6 March.
