Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan managed an impressive collection of Rs9.25 crore on its opening Friday, according to numbers from BoxOfficeIndia.com. This is the third consecutive and third highest opening day for an Ayushmann Khurrana film. Bala (2019) and Dream Girl (2019) had opened with Rs9.32 crore and Rs9.43 crore, respectively.

The Hitesh Kewalya film moved ahead of the other Friday release, Bhanu Pratap Singh's Bhoot:The Haunted Ship. The Vicky Kaushal-led horror film earned a decent Rs5 crore on its opening day.

Both films will have crucial Saturdays to ensure a successful opening weekend.

Meanwhile, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior continued its run on the sixth Friday, adding another Rs50 lakh to its growing collection. The film's total at the domestic box office currently stands at Rs265.50 crore.

The Friday also saw Mohit Suri's Malang enjoy a good return. The film ended its third Friday with Rs75 lakh. This puts the film's lifetime earning at Rs52 crore, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Imtiaz Ali's romantic drama, Love Aaj Kal, saw a drop on its second Friday. The film only saw a return of Rs45 lakh, which puts its total so far at Rs32.25 crore. The film looks to be on shaky ground, and might just about hit the Rs35 crore mark.
