Ananya Panday joins Vijay Deverakonda in Karan Johar, Puri Jaganndh’s next

Vijay Deverakonda recently started shooting director Puri Jagannadh’s next which is produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The yet untitled film is an action thriller in Hindi and all south Indian languages. The latest update is that actress Ananya Pandey is cast opposite Deverakonda in the movie. 

The announcement was made by Johar on his official Twitter page. “Welcoming the stunning Ananya Panday for our Pan-India venture with Vijay Deverakonda, directed by Puri Jagannadh,” he wrote. The film is co-produced by actress-turned-producer Charmme Kaur. 

The makers have also shared pictures of the team prepping up for the shoot of the film. Panday and Deverakonda are seen rehearsing while reading the script. In another picture, Panday, Deverakonda, Kaur and Jagannath are seen in a relaxed mood. 

Panday debuted in Student Of The Year 2 (2019), which was also produced by Dharma Productions, and followed it up with Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) last year.

The film went on floors last month after a mahurat ceremony. At that time they had described the film as a ‘crazy project.’ An official statement from the makers had said, “This indeed is the most challenging role for Vijay Deverakonda so far and he will be seen in a completely new avatar.”
