After Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), actor Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon are reuniting again in a comedy. They will star in a yet untitled family comedy along with Dimple Kapadia and Paresh Rawal. Director Abhishek Jain will be making his Hindi debut with this movie.

Rao and Sanon play a couple who are orphans. When Rao decides to adopt an older couple, played by Kapadia and Rawal, they end up creating problems in his life and marriage.

The film will be produced by Dinesh Vijan, who has worked with both Rao and Sanon before. The actress was a part of his directorial debut Raabta (2017) with Sushant Singh Rajput. Sanon has also worked in Vijan's productions like Luka Chuppi (2019) and Arjun Patiala (2019). Rao starred in the Vijan-produced Stree (2018) and Made In China (2019).

"This innovative idea also came from real life, though it is not inspired by any incident in particular. We have spun it into a crazy comedy with our unique tadka," Vijan told the daily Mumbai Mirror.

The producer was in talks with the stars for another film, but they ended up joining this project instead.

Like Mikhil Musale with Made In China, Jain will be making his Hindi film debut. The director, who has previously assisted filmmakers like Subhash Ghai and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, directed the Gujarati films, Kevi Rite Jaish (2012) and Bey Yaar (2014).

The family comedy is expected to begin filming in Delhi this March and should release by the end of the year.
