After What The Folks, Renuka Shahane is starring in another web-series titled Starting Troubles. Directed by Abhinav Kamal, it is touted to be India’s first medical humour web-series and is adapted from Dr Jagdish Chaturvedi’s book Inventing Medical Devices.
An official statement from the makers said, “It’s a transformational journey of a student doctor who turns into a medical innovator under the guidance of Dr Kavita Gowda. While the innovation causes turbulence amongst colleagues, Dr Kavita is determined to make this invention happen and protects his future.”
Shahane shared her experience of working in the project. “It was a total picnic on the sets with Abhinav and Jagdish," she said in a statement. "I got to learn so much about the medical field from Dr Jagdish; the only thing difficult was to keep a straight face in front of him while shooting. I would like to thank Abhinav and Jagdish for making me a part of such a wonderful project.”
Chaturvedi is also a stand-up comedian. He also features in Starting Troubles along with Kurush Deboo, Anushka, Rajesh PI, Bharat Chawla, Jui Pawar, Aditi Rawal, Vikrant Mehata and Neha Pathak.
Director Abhinav Kamal has made some short films, documentaries and advertisement films before this project. He was an assistant director on the superhit Stree (2018).
Throwing more light on Starting Troubles, he said, “Starting Troubles is a fascinating story based on real-life incidents that highlight the values of entrepreneurship and balancing work and passion.”
The web-series started streaming from 16 February on the digital platform Hiiih.
