There have been a slew of Marathi film announcements in recent times. The latest is Runanubandh (2020), a film by actor-turned-director Lokesh Gupte. The mahurat took place in Pune, in the presence of Vaibhav Dange, former minister Sunil Ambekar and the cast of the film.
This is Gupte's second film as director. He had earlier directed a social drama Ek Sangaychay (2018). The film dealt with the growing lack of communication between parents and children, and its consequences. Acclaimed actor Kay Kay Menon made his Marathi debut with Ek Sangaychay. Gupte is a well-known actor in Marathi cinema and has done notable work in films like Uladhaal (2008) and Akira (2016). He has also acted in many television serials.
Runanubandh is set to release in theatres on 13 November 2020.
