Film critic Anupama Chopra announces second edition of Critics' Choice Film Awards

Film critic Anupama Chopra announced the next edition of the Critics' Choice Film Awards (CCFA). The senior journalist, who is also the chairperson of the Film Critics Guild, shared her excitement for the second edition of the awards in a video.

After handing out awards at the Critics' Choice Shorts and Series Awards last year, Film Critics Guild and Motion Content Group, in collaboration with Vistas Media Capital, will hand out honours to films in eight languages — Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

Chopra stated, "We are back again with the second edition of the Critics' Choice Film Awards where we recognize talent and storytelling in Indian feature films. Just like last time, we do not want to limit it to Hindi cinema, so the guild will be awarding cinema across eight languages."

Last year, the awards honoured the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018), the Malayalam film Ee Ma Yau (2018), the Gujarati film Reva (2018), the Telugu film C/o Kancharapalem (2018), the Marathi film Lathe Joshi (2018), the Kannada film Ondalla Eradalla (2018) and the Bengali film Pupa (2018) as the best of the year.

The award ceremony will take place on 14 March.
