Rajkummar Rao might have to face the struggle of every physical education teacher across India in his upcoming film, Chhalaang (2020). Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film features Rao as a physical education teacher trying to turn a group of studious, bookish students to take up sports. The first poster of the film captures that very sentiment in a genial way.
The film has also been delayed for the third time since its announcement. The film was initially scheduled for a 31 January release, before being moved to 13 March. While the earlier poster showed the date as 13 March, the latest one shows 12 June implying a new release date for the film.
The new poster features Rao, standing behind a podium, with a hapless shrug, while all around him students crouch down reading through books, or dreaming. The poster also features Nushrat Bharucha and Saurabh Shukla.

Masterji Khilayen Kaise? Bachche Busy Hain Exams Ki Padhayi Mein.
Toh Masterji Khilayenge Garmi Ki Chhuttiyon Mein! Exams Ke Liye Best of Luck! @ChhalaangFilm @RajkummarRao @NushratBharucha @ajaydevgn @luv_ranjan @gargankur @itsBhushanKumar pic.twitter.com/iHnrc1OT6Q
The film marks Rao's fifth collaboration with mentor, Hansal Mehta, after films like Shahid (2013), Citylights (2014), Aligarh (2016) and Omerta (2018). While the previous films were built around serious topics, Chhalaang looks to be a story with a more humorous touch.
The earlier poster also revolved around the same conundrum with Rao sleeping on the job, while the others stood with exasperated expressions around him.
Chhalaang is produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, Ajay Devgn FFilms, and Luv Ranjan's Luv Films. It will release in theatres on 12 June.
