Angrezi Medium poster: Irrfan Khan becomes the Queen’s Guard for Radhika Madan

The latest poster of Angrezi Medium (2020), which features lead actor Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan, is both interesting and unusual. But more importantly, it raises your expectations from the film directed by Homi Adajania. 

The poster shows Madan giving a tight hug to Khan. But this isn’t an ordinary moment. Khan is dressed in the uniform of the Queen’s Guard. Khan isn’t reciprocating since he is on duty for the queen. 

Interestingly, Madan is wearing a school uniform worn by students in small towns or villages of India. It seems like her character will be travelling to England in such a uniform. 

Madan has so far acted in two films in the form of Pataakha (2018) and Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2019) where she played diverse characters. It seems she, once again, has a new avatar in Angrezi Medium. 

Angrezi Medium is the second film in the franchise after Hindi Medium (2017). The first film was helmed by Saket Chaudhary and it also starred Amrita Singh, Saba Qamar, and Neha Dhupia. 

From the first film, only Khan and Dobriyal are retained as cast members. Angrezi Medium also has an interesting cast list with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Ranvir Shorey, and Kiku Sharda. 

Kareena’s still from the film released last year revealed that she plays a British cop in the film. Now the new poster makes it clear that the film has an international angle, with Khan’s attire and the inclusion of the Big Ben, the Tower of London and the iconic red phone booths and buses from the British capital.

Angrezi Medium is due to be released on 20 March.
