Panghrun teaser: Gauri Ingawale doesn’t let her attire hinder her passion for dance

This is her first film as a lead actress after acting as a child in Kutumb (2012) and 3:56 Killari (2015).

Mahesh Manjrekar’s much-loved Kaksparsh (2012) was based on a story by Usha Datar, and set in the pre-Independence era in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. It starred Sachin Khedekar and Priya Bapat in prominent roles.

His upcoming film Panghrun (2020) is based on the work of another writer, BB Borkar. This film is also based in Konkan during the British era. However, it would be unfair to label it similar to the 2012 movie.

The film sees Gauri Ingawale play the lead character. The teaser only shows her character dancing. Interestingly, the dance she showcases is Western while her attire is a traditional saree worn in Maharashtra. The reason for this is expected to be revealed in the film. Ingawale manages the art effortlessly despite her voluminous attire.

In between, we see visuals of Laxmi’s wedding and few flashes of other scenes. This teaser actually lives up to its meaning and gets you eager to know more about the film.

This is Ingawale's first film as a lead actress after acting as a child in Kutumb (2012) and 3:56 Killari (2015). The film also stars Amol Bawdekar and Rohit Phalke in important roles. More light on the film’s subject and other characters is expected in the trailer.

Panghrun is set for release on 20 March. Watch the teaser below and let us know if you would be watching the movie.
